LSP USA is seeking skilled and innovative Mechatronics Engineers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for design, development, installation, and maintenance of automation equipment and systems for vision inspection of coating process for battery cell manufacturing. You will work as a member of a multidisciplinary engineering team, collaborating with software engineers and robotic engineers to create scalable solutions that enhance our product offerings and improve user experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechatronics system design, control engineering, robotics, automation, and a passion for leveraging data to solve complex engineering problems.
Job Description
• Design and develop automated vision inspection systems for battery cell manufacturing, focusing on electrode coating processes.
• Analyze customer manufacturing processes to identify automation needs and propose solutions to detect defects and improve safety and longevity of EV batteries.
• Create detailed mechanical designs for camera infrastructure, including camera type, resolution, and lighting to optimize system performance.
• Design mechatronic components such as lighting, lenses, sensors, and vision processing systems to detect visual defects in battery components.
• Monitor vision signal processing and apply advanced techniques like edge linking and boundary detection to enhance system accuracy.
• Collaborate with software engineers to configure system components, separate genuine defects from superficial flaws, and ensure system functionality in varied conditions.
• Develop and execute testing procedures to validate the accuracy and reliability of automated vision inspection systems.
• Test and adjust equipment after installation to ensure compliance with customer specifications and detect potential defects in real-time.
• Maintain system accuracy through regular calibration, troubleshooting equipment failures, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide technical support and consultation to customers, advising on equipment maintenance, upgrades, and operational improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and MATLAB.
• Strong knowledge of Sensor and Measurement System, Control Engineering, and Automation.
• Experience and familiarity with modeling and simulation of mechatronics systems and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
